This means that mails will be forwarded to list subscribers "as is", without any censorship or filtering. Topics: ======= * Any Candi news and discussions, e.g. Candi dolls, Candi-sized fashions and accessories, Candi "who's who", what's a Candi Girl to wear, ... * Creative projects with Candi, e.g. displaying, sewing, hairstyling, repainting, rerooting, ... * Posts concerning other dolls are welcome, too, provided they don't take over and transform the list into, e.g., "Bar*ieChat". * As Candi collecting requires Candi shopping, posts about items for sale / trade / wanted to buy can provide useful information. However, please do not overdo it. Please note the comments below about selling via the list. * Remember that others will judge upon you from what you write. Treat others as you would like to be treated. No flaming on this list! * Chain letters and pyramid schemes of any sort are not only unwanted in this list but even illegal in many countries. What to send to CandiChat list: =============================== * All contributions should be in English language. * CandiChat is a text-only list. Please do not use MIME or HTML mail, only plain text. Also, please do not send attachments or binary files (pictures) to the list. If you have any technical questions about this, e-mail me (Anja Drewitz). * If you have pictures you want to show to list members, you have the following possibilities: either: - post a note offering to e-mail them to interested people upon request or: - upload the pictures somewhere (e.g. your web site) and post a note where people can find them. If you have no web site of your own, contact me and we will find a place to upload your pictures. How to reply to e-mails received from CandiChat list: ===================================================== * If you hit "reply", you will send a private comment to the author. * If you say "group reply" or "reply to all" (may be named differently depending on your mail reader), your reply will go back to CandiChat mailing list to be forwarded to all. * The list's address is . E-mail sent to this address will be forwarded to all subscribers. Comments on FS / WTB posts: =========================== As said above, selling, buying or trading of doll-related items via the list is not objected to. However, to keep list traffic to a reasonable volume and make live easier both for those list members who want to shop and those who do not want to read ads, please: * Indicate in the subject what your mail is about. "FS" means "for sale", "WTB" means "wanted to buy", and "WTT" accordingly means "wanted to trade". E.g., you could write "FS: Retro Candi" if you want to sell a Retro Candi Girl. Advantages for readers are obvious: Those who do not feel like shopping can skip FS posts, while those longing for new dolls will probably read a FS post immediately. * If you have several items to sell, do not send an extra mail for each item. Instead, send only one mail listing all of them. In case the list would be long: * Do not mail long "for sale" lists as a whole. Say that you have a list available and will e-mail it to everyone who requests it. Or, point people to your web site's URL where they can read it. * "For sale" mails about non-doll related items, like cars, e.g., are unwanted. Netiquette ========== For all of us having maximum fun with CandiChat, it would be nice of you to stick to the following "netiquette" rules which have a long tradition among "netizens", the inhabitants of computer networks: * Please tell who you are. It is confusing to see five different people using the same pseudonym "Candi". It is also confusing when there are five people named "Ann" and they all sign with their first name only. * Make use of the "subject" line. Expressive subjects help readers to follow a discussion. Using "Candi" as the subject does not help anyone. Also, when a discussion has moved away from the original topic and you want to mail a comment on the new topic, choose a new subject. Example: The original subject was "What is a baggy Candi?". Meanwhile, the discussion is about a possible new face mold. Then it is only fair to share the interesting news by changing the subject to "New face mold? (was: What is a baggy Candi?)". * It is often helpful to quote from the mail you are replying to. However, please do not quote the whole mail. Everyone else has received this mail, too, and does not need a duplicate. Quote only those sentences that are necessary to indicate the points you are responding to. * Please do not use extensive signatures. You will hardly ever need more than 4 lines for it. Have fun!
